Program: Past District Governor Bill Rupp, Esq gave a presentation on Rotary International’s Youth Protection Program which was ratified by our district in 2012. It is modeled on a program fashioned by Eastern States Student Exchange Program (acronym ESSEX). This programs evaluates the fitness of anyone to deal with youth. Anyone who is involved even in the smallest Rotary activity involving people younger than 18, such as driving Interact Kids to the club meeting, must be screened. To those doubters in the group, and I was one of them for a while, Bill flashed on the screen a newspaper headline titled “Teacher of the Year arrested” for sexual abuse and showed a picture of a woman. No one is above reproach! Bill is the District Youth Protection Officer and may be reached at WFRAttorney@gmail.com or 201-562-1062. As a former skeptic I advise anyone who plans to deal with youth in any capacity to contact Bill to go through the procedure.

50-50 We have a winner! With 27 cards in the deck and $693 in the pot Aleta selected the Jack of Hearts. Congratulations!!
