A Painful Past - and a Question of Guilt until Today

Hermann Schaefer, RC Bon Sud-Bad Godesberg, is a German historian and founding president of the House of History Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany, one of the most popular museums in Germany. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Freiburg and honorary professor at the University of Karlsruhe. He serves on numerous committees, continues to publish and has received national and international history awards including Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and Chevalier de L'Ordre national du Merite.

Wilfried Gehart, RC Emmendingen Breisgau, studied mechanical engineering and process engineering at the Vienna University of Technology and completed a postgraduate course at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He worked in the field of mechanical engineering for more than 40 years. A founding member of the RC of Emmendingen Breisgau in 2006, he has served as Governor of District 1930 and as a district trainer.
